Ollie Chedhomme GGU Player of the Year for second time

Junior Ollie Chedhomme capped an excellent 2021with retaining the prestigious GGU golfer of the year award. During 2021, Ollie had many highlights including becoming the islands lowest handicap player, breaking the the LGM course record, playing in his first Men’s Inter Insular and scoring the most points for Guernsey. Ollie has also qualified to play in the Junior European Open in Spain so we all look forward to seeing him on Sky in 2022.

OLLIE FOLLOWING IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF JUSTIN ROSE & LUKE DONALD

Ollie Chedhomme is heading to Spain in February after receiving an invitation to the prestigious Junior European Open. The Island’s leading player and Hampshire u18 star was in action in a qualifier at Lingfield Park during October half term.

Now in it’s 29th year, the tournament brings together some of the finest junior golfers in Europe. Previous competitors have included the likes of Justin Rose, Luke Donald and Sky Sports Presenter and former tour player Nick Dougherty. Sky will be covering the event and and it will be coming to our screens in early 2022.

There will be 110 juniors competing in the scratch competition over five rounds with a cut after 72 holes. The event is played over two courses; Alcaidesa Links and Alcaidesa Heathland which measures over 7000 yards!

Everyone involved with junior golf wishes Ollie the very best of luck as he prepares for the biggest tournament of his career to date and we look forward to seeing him on TV!
